I get a lot of questions starting with, “Where do I find…” and end with “in the Oracle Management Repository, (OMR)?”
This issue can be seen in either EM12c or EM13c AWR Warehouse environments. It occurs when there is a outage on the AWR Warehouse and/or the source database that is to upload to it.
I appreciate killing two birds with one stone. I’m all about efficiency and if I can satisfy more than one task with a simple, productive process, then I’m going to do it. Today, I’m about to:
One thing I like seeing is how people use Enterprise Manager. It’s one of the most enjoyable parts of speaking at conferences (apart from the social networking, of course), because quite often the users of Enterprise Manager find ways of using the product that we in Product Management might never have thought of. Sometimes that can lead to useful product enhancements, and other times it leads to much head shaking in disbelief (but since I don’t like exposing that side much you’ll have to grab me at a conference to hear some of those more “interesting” examples!)
As some of you would already know, for my sins I am the product manager with responsibility for BI Publisher in Enterprise Manager [I must have a lot of sins because I’m also responsible for Change Management, Compliance Management, Configuration Management (these three form the Database Lifecycle Management pack), jobs, the target discovery framework, and at least part of DBaaS along with data cloning and refresh
Just a quick post to let you know the EM13.1 plug-in for GoldenGate has been released by the GoldenGate development team. I know some of you have been waiting for this, so head on over to the official announcement for all the details!

I’ve been working on a test environment consisting of multiple containers in a really cool little setup.
Having a GUI tool like Enterprise Manager Cloud Control to manage your entire data center is an imperative for most enterprises these days. But in the cloud paradigm, you must also have a uniform API that can be used to tailor the cloud to your business processes and economic models. That API is known as the REST API, and services based on that are known as RESTful services.
With EM13c, DBaaS has never been easier. No matter if you’re solution is on-premise, hybrid, (on-premise to the cloud and back) or all cloud, you’ll find that the ability to take on DevOps challenges and ease the demands on you as the DBA is viewed as the source of much of the contention.
