WordPress 4.4.1

WordPress 4.4.1 has been released.

You can see the list of fixes here. Your site will probably auto-update soon if you can’t be bothered to give it a nudge before.

There is also an update to the Twenty Sixteen theme, which you will have to trigger manually, if you are using it of course. :)

Happy blogging.

WordPress 4.4

WordPress 4.4 has landed. As usual, early on you will need to manually initiate the auto-update. I’m guessing in a day or so it will just happen by itself.

I did the update on 5 installations and all went through with no dramas. There will no doubt be a slew of updates over the next few days, which is pretty common after a big release. The auto-update feature means you can take the lazy approach and just let it do its thing. :)

WordPress 4.3.1

WordPress 4.3.1 has been released. Downloads and changelogs in the usual places.

Hopefully, by the time you read this your site will have automatically been upgraded and you’ll have nothing to do, except maybe update a few plugins. :)

WordPress 4.3 “Billie”

WordPress 4.3 “Billie” has arrived.

I was on my blog admin pages doing something else and I noticed the update was available before the auto-updater kicked in and updated the site automatically, so I gave it a nudge and now I’m upgraded.

Like most of the recent WordPress updates, there is little new that interests me, but it’s always a good idea to be up to date, so whatever… :)

WordPress 4.2.4

wordpressBy the time you read this, you are probably auto-magically running on WordPress 4.2.4. :)

It’s a security release. You can read about the changes here.

Have a good time sitting back and doing nothing while it takes care of itself! :)

WordPress 4.2.3 : Hurry up and … let it fix itself…

WordPress 4.2.3wordpress has been released.

It contains fixes for some pretty nasty stuff. Usually, the updates have to be manually triggered for a day or so before the auto-update feature picks them up. I was on the blog this morning and there were no “manually triggered auto-updates” available, so it looks like this one has been pushed straight out, which probably makes sense.

By the time you’ve read this you are probably up to date already, but if not, get on your blog and give it a nudge. :)

WordPress 4.0

WordPress 4.0 “Benny” has been released. The download is in the usual place, but you are probably going to upgrade by clicking the auto-upgrade button.

I did 4 upgrades and all went fine. I can’t say things look that different after it, but you’ve got to keep on top of these upgrades I guess.

Cheers

WordPress 3.9.2

WordPress 3.9.2 has been released. It’s a security release with a bunch of important fixes for some nasties. The changelog is here.

Depending on your setup, you might have automatically updated anyway. If not, go on to your dashboard and give it a nudge. :)

WordPress 3.9 Released

Hot on the heels of WordPress 3.8.3 comes WordPress 3.9! The downloads and changelog are in the usual places.

I’ve just manually initiated the auto-update on five blogs and all went through OK.

WordPress 3.8.3 – Auto Update

WordPress 3.8.3 came out yesterday. It’s a small maintenance release, with the downloads and changelog in the usual places. For many people, this update will happen automatically and they’ll just receive and email to say it has been applied.

I’m still not sure what to make of the auto-update feature of WordPress. Part of me likes it and part of me is a bit irritated by it. For the lazy folks out there, I think it is a really good idea, but for those who are on their blog admin screens regularly it might seem like a source of confusion. I currently self-host 5 WordPress blogs and the auto-update feature seems a little erratic. One blog always auto-updates as soon as the new a new release comes out. A couple sometimes do. I don’t think this blog has ever auto-updated…
